NEF 22 Hornet

I’ve had my NEF 22 Hornet for over 20 years. I’ve always just shot 40gr v-max and ballistic tips out of it. I was thinking of trying some 55gr hornady soft points. I am curious if any of you guys have a handi- rifle in 22 Hornet and if you’ve ever tried shooting 55gr SP out of them?

The Hornets I have played with did not like bullets over 45 grain, but none of them were NEF. Mine were older Savages with slow twist barrel though.
